A mountainous region in northwestern Washington, roughly bounded on the north and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the east by Hood Canal and Satsop River; and on the south by Chehalis River. This region encompasses Olympic National Park, Buckhorn Wilderness, The Brothers Wilderness, Mt. Skokomish Wilderness, and Colonel Bob Wilderness.
