A mountainous region in north-central Washington, roughly bounded on the north by Skagit River, Cascade River, Cascade Pass, upper Stehekin River, Bridge Creek, Twisp Pass, Twisp River, and Loup Loup Pass (SR-20); and on the south by Skykomish River, Stevens Pass (US-2), Nason Creek, Wenatchee River, and Swakane Creek. This region encompasses the Glacier Peak Wilderness, Boulder River Wilderness, Wild Sky Wilderness, Henry M. Jackson Wilderness, and Lake Chelan – Sawtooth Wilderness.
