Full Trip Report
I did a hike to Spray Park in Mt Rainier National Park with Deborah and David, then I continued up to Echo Rock. We started at Mowich Lake and followed the Spray Park Trail to its high point (6400 feet) between Spray Park and Seattle Park.
- Hiking Thru Spray Park
We then turned southward on a boot path leading up to the Flett Glacier snout, where David and Deborah hung out with the pyroclastics and penstemons.
- Echo Rock, Observation Rock, and Mt Rainier
I continued up the glacier (really just a snowfield now) and scrambled up Echo Rock (mostly Class 1-2, with a little Class 3) for better views and a summit fix.
- Echo Rock From Saddle
- Spray Park From Echo Rock
What a great day! The air was warm, the visibility was excellent, and the wildflowers were primo.
