A mountainous region in northern Washington, roughly bounded on the north by the international border; on the south by Skagit River, Cascade River, Cascade Pass, and upper Stehekin River; and on the east by Ross Lake, Thunder Creek, Fisher Creek, and North Fork Bridge Creek. This region encompasses the Mt. Baker Wilderness, Noisy-Diobsud Wilderness, and most of North Cascades National Park.
