Full Trip Report

While spending Christmas camped on the beach at Okarito Holiday Park, Eileen and I took a short hike up to nearby Okarito Trigonometrical Station, or simply “Okarito Trig.” This point provides a marvelous view of Okarito Lagoon and the adjacent beach. We continued farther by following an old road-trail that wanders along the top of the bluff. For an easy hike with a big ocean view, this one gets a thumbs up!
